The sleek frontal profile of this Black Shouldered Kite clearly shows why these graceful birds are such efficient predators. Photographed in the rice paddy fields of Sungai Balang, Malaysia these birds are best viewed early in the morning when they can be seen hovering above the paddy before dive bombing down onto their prey below. Its a spectacle of aeodynamics, grace and lethal efficiency.
