Photo of the Day; “Lift Off”

Photographing birds as they are about to land or just as they are about to take off really shows the wonder of nature at its best. The purpose of every feather and muscle is plain to see. This shot of a Chinese Pond Heron taking flight from its perch is one of my all time favorites. Dark trees in the background provide a nice frame accentuate the birds coloring.
